On the agenda for the evening at the recent “Shoulder to Shoulder” was the introduction of the five educators who have been chosen to represent Tempe Sister Cities in our summer exchange. Chris Crain (Math Coach, Kyrene) will be our first exchange teacher to Cuenca, Ecuador. Lori McClellen (Gifted Educ. and Social Studies Coordinator, TD3) and Wendy Young (K teacher, Broadmor School, TD3) are going to Regensburg, Germany. Crissy Johnson (K teacher, Fuller School, TD3) and Janice Eubank (Instructional Coach, Hudson School, TD3) are going to Lower Hutt. The Core Team is delighted to welcome these educators to the teacher exchange. Pictured above…
Their gratitude for being chosen and their enthusiasm for the experience to come is good to see. Janice Eubank said it so well in her note to Linda written the morning after the Shoulder to Shoulder at Jan’s.
Here are Janice’s words…..
“The school bell is about to ring, but I just wanted to take a minute to
say, ‘thank you!’ Last night’s Shoulder to Shoulder was so much fun. What an amazing group of people! I loved talking to everyone about their
experiences in New Zealand with the Tempe Sister Cities organization, and in education. My travel mate, Crissi, is delightful and we are looking
forward to sharing this adventure. Anya taught us our first New Zealand
word…’gumboots’ 🙂 My favorite part about this experience is having the opportunity for learning and sharing between educators and countries. I’m inspired because that’s already beginning to take place…and I haven’t even stepped out of the country! Thank you, again, for all of the time and planning each of you put into making this possible. I am so excited for the next event, and for the exchange.”
